Exactly the comment I came to make. That narrative most certainly still exists. The only difference is you can now be a provider without being the breadwinner, and women have been added to the competition. Neither of these should prevent one from contributing and being a good husband. If anything, I think they've made those of us who have been able to adapt even stronger.
