Americans Are Being Crushed by Their Political System

Increasingly, we look to our right and we look to our left, and realize that both sides have moved away from our actual values, crushing us with pressure to conform to theirs. It’s making us anxious with cynicism, resentfulness and divisiveness. But how do we stop it?

We look to our right…

We see a creepy (and often hypocritical) obsession with religion-driven morals and sexuality, when we either support freedom or just don’t care what other adults do in their own bedrooms, or who they marry. Maybe some feel confused or unable to keep up with concepts like pronouns and gender fluidity, and aren’t quite sure about where transgender people should play sports, but we’re willing to learn and help figure things out. We certainly don’t want to persecute transgender people or roll back the freedom to marry.

We see a weird obsession with outlandish conspiracy theories, and don’t believe for an instant that there’s some notorious gay agenda, global jewish conspiracy, or that democrats run a secret pedophile ring. Nor do we believe that the 2020 election was stolen, and we strongly support early voting, even if we’re fine with voter ID laws.
